The Ocean Breeze Tote is a nice and roomy crochet tote bag that has lots of fun texture. It would look great in all different color combinations, or a single color as well. I chose to make this one using the Beachglass colorway in Caron Cotton Cakes. These shades together are definitely giving off some beachy vibes!

This bag is a great size to hold everything for the adventures in your life, from day trips to summer markets, or shopping to lake, pool, or beach days! I hope you love making the Ocean Breeze Tote!

Materials:
- Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn – You can use any worsted-weight cotton yarn (or cotton blend). I used a Caron Cotton Cake in the Beachglass colorway. I used just over half of the Cotton Cake (approximately 300m/330yds).
- Crochet hook – 5mm size (I always use and highly recommend Clover Amour hooks).
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Stitches Used:
- Ch – Chain
- Sl St – Slip Stitch
- SC – Single crochet
- DC – Double crochet
Gauge:
- Gauge is not really important for this bag, but 8 SC stitches is approx. 2 inches wide, 7 rows of SC stitches is approx. 2 inches tall
Finished Size:
- When laying flat, this bag is approx. 15 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall , not including the handles.
Important Notes:
- Joined Rounds – This bag is worked in joined rounds. At the end of each round, you will be joining the last stitch of the round to the first stitch with a slip stitch.
- Starting Each Round – Start the first stitch of each round in the same stitch as the chain 1 or chain 2. The chain 1 or 2 stitches at the start of each round do not count towards the stitch count of each round, however the rest of the chain stitches throughout the round count towards the total.
- Video Tutorial – I have created a video tutorial to show how the stitch pattern works for the body of this bag. You can find it on my YouTube channel HERE.
- There are a couple other video tutorials on my channel that you might also find helpful in working up this bag:

In these next few rounds, you will be working the handles/straps for the bag. If you would like a longer handle/strap, you can add chain stitches as needed to increase the length. If you would like a shorter handle/strap, you can just chain less stitches than written in the pattern.
*If you need help working the rounds of the handle, check out this video for a tutorial on adding handles onto crochet tote bags using the same technique as for this pattern!
Round 38: SC in first 8 stitches, chain 70, skip 25 stitches, SC in next 28, chain 70, skip 25 stitches, SC in last 22 stitches, join, ch 1.

Round 39: SC in each stitch around and in each of the chain stitches (to form the handles), join, ch 1.
Rounds 40-41: SC in each stitch around, join, ch 1. *after round 41, do not chain 1. Fasten off and weave in ends.
*Note: If you’d like a wider handle, you can repeat round 40 one or two more times before fastening off.

You’re all finished! I hope you enjoyed making the Ocean Breeze Tote!
